Our mid-range Desktop+ PC is perfect for most uses. We use these or similar machines here at Z-Tech for most of our daily work. A generous 64 bit Sempron 2800+ CPU coupled with a more than modest 512MB DDR400 RAM, and an 80GB SATA drive.
You pick any distribution from our shop and we'll install it on this machine free of charge. SuSE Linux will be installed by default, if no other is specified.
We can partition it however you like, for instance to prepare for a second operating system installation on another partition in order to dual boot. See below for details on the default partitioning scheme, which will be used if you do not request custom partitioning.
Partition 1 (26GB):SuSE Linux 10.1 (unless otherwise noted)
Partition 2 (26GB):Blank - reserved for second OS or storage
Partition 3 (26GB):Blank - reserved for storage
Partition 4 (300MB):Swap - used by the operating system
This gives you optimal room for expansion. The second and third partitions can be used in conjunction with the main (first) partition, or alternate operating systems such as Windows or another Linux/BSD distribution can be put on them.
Because we have a very marginal markup on our computers, our warranty is fairly limited. We offer no official technical support, but will make our best efforts to solve any issues via email. Having said that, all computers are systematically tested prior to shipment and also inherently tested via the operating system installation and configuration. All sales are final.
